Got a PhD question that needs more than a quick answer? You’re in the right place.

I host a regular live Q&A call for Momentum members, where we explore the trickier academic questions that benefit from time, structure, and explanation.

Use the form below to submit your question. You can ask about anything related to the academic or developmental side of your PhD - writing, analysis, theory, structure, confidence, time management, or navigating common supervisory challenges.

Before you submit, please note:

This session is designed for questions that are broadly useful to the whole community.

It is not the right place for:

• individual disputes with supervisors or universities

• personal, procedural, or institution-specific issues

• anything requiring case-by-case advice outside the scope of Degree Doctor Momentum support as noted in our terms

If your question falls into one of these categories, your university’s formal processes, student union, or postgraduate support services will be the best place to seek guidance.

A few practical notes:

Please submit your question at least 48 hours before the session.

We may not be able to answer every question live. If many come in, we’ll run a quick poll so the community can prioritise the most widely useful ones.

Keep your question focused - it helps me give a more practical, actionable answer for everyone.
