Degree Doctor® Momentum Membership
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 November 2025
These Terms & Conditions govern your participation in the Degree Doctor® Momentum Membership (“the Membership”), operated by Wise Wares UK Limited, trading as Degree Doctor® (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By joining or continuing your membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing or accessing the Membership.
1. Purpose of the Membership
The Degree Doctor® Momentum Membership provides access to an online educational community, digital resources, group learning materials, and live or recorded masterclasses. It is designed to support your academic progress as a postgraduate researcher.
This Membership does not provide:
• one-to-one supervision
• personalised coaching
• individual academic feedback
• therapeutic, counselling, mental-health, legal or professional advice
• access to any other Degree Doctor® products (e.g., PhD Survival Guides, Cheat Sheet Library, standalone courses)
These are separate services.
You remain solely responsible for academic decisions, research ethics, wellbeing, and communication with your institution.
2. Membership Access
Membership is available as a rolling monthly or annual subscription.
2.1 Calendar-Month Access Model
Payments are collected in advance for the upcoming calendar month by default.
If access is granted early in a month, the payment may apply to the current month, and recurring billing will follow from that date.
Membership includes:
• access to the community platform
• members-only content
• masterclasses, workbooks and resources
• optional live events
• discussion spaces
Login details must not be shared.
We may change or replace the delivery platform. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain continuity.
2.2 No Guarantee of Uninterrupted Access
We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free access, as maintenance or technical downtime may occur.
3. Eligibility for Membership
The Membership is exclusively for individuals currently enrolled in a recognised doctoral programme (PhD, EdD, DBA, etc.).
To protect the community, we may:
• verify eligibility,
• request evidence,
• decline applications, or
• remove individuals whose behaviour is unsafe, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the Membership’s purpose.
Eligibility decisions are final.
4. Founding Members
Founding Members understand that early-stage refinements or technical issues may occur. These will be addressed promptly. Founding Members receive a discounted rate fixed for as long as their Membership remains active.
5. Personal Use Only & Intellectual Property
All Membership content — including videos, live sessions, downloads, workbooks, templates, posts and discussions — is our intellectual property.
You may download materials for your personal use only.
You may not:
• reproduce, share, upload, or distribute any materials,
• screenshot or distribute community content,
• use any materials for teaching, training or commercial purposes,
• upload copyrighted materials you do not have permission to share.
5.1 Prohibited Content
You must not upload unlawful, harmful, defamatory, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
Breach of this clause may result in termination and/or legal action.
6. Payments, Billing & Stripe Subscription Management
Payments are processed via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise recurring payments until cancelled.
Prices are in GBP (£). International members may incur currency or processing fees.
6.1 Failed Payments
If your payment fails, Stripe may retry automatically.
If payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts, we may:
• suspend access, and/or
• terminate your membership,
until payment is received.
We are not liable for bank or payment gateway fees.
6.2 Payment Pauses During Emergencies
If we must temporarily suspend services due to illness, bereavement, emergencies or operational issues, we may pause billing.
During a pause:
• no payments will be collected,
• billing resumes when services resume,
• access may continue or pause depending on circumstances.
6.3 Price Adjustments
We may adjust pricing with prior notice. Changes apply only to future billing.
7. Refund Policy
All payments are final and non-refundable due to the instantly accessible nature of digital content.
By joining, you waive the 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
8. Cancellations
8.1 Monthly Membership
• Cancel anytime
• Access continues until the end of the current paid calendar month
• No partial refunds
8.2 Annual Membership
If you cancel before the end of the 12-month term:
• usage is recalculated at the monthly rate active at sign-up,
• you will be charged for each month used (including partial months),
• any remaining balance will be refunded,
• access continues until the recalculated period ends.
9. Community Conduct
Members must interact respectfully and professionally.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying or toxicity will not be tolerated.
We may suspend or terminate membership for conduct breaches without refund.
We are not responsible for the behaviour, disclosures or actions of other members.
Any information you choose to share is at your own risk.
10. Privacy, Safety & Personal Information
Do not share personal contact details (email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, WhatsApp IDs, social media handles) in public spaces on the platform.
Any information you choose to share publicly is at your own risk.

11. Disclaimer
All Membership content is educational only. It does not constitute:
• academic supervision
• therapy or counselling
• legal, ethical or institutional advice
You remain responsible for your own academic and research decisions.
We cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes or progress.
12. Member-Generated Content
You retain ownership of your content, while granting us a licence to display and store it within the Membership while your account is active.
You must not upload confidential or copyrighted material without permission.
13. Third-Party Experts & External Sessions
From time to time, we may invite external experts to deliver sessions or resources.
While selected with care, we do not endorse or guarantee their advice or contributions.
Any decision to work with a third-party expert outside the Membership is entirely your responsibility. You should conduct your own due diligence.
14. Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your membership without refund if you:
• breach these Terms,
• share login details,
• misuse intellectual property,
• engage in harmful or disruptive behaviour,
• violate privacy or safety rules.
If termination occurs for reasons unrelated to your conduct (e.g., discontinuation), refunds will follow Section 17.
15. Limitation of Liability
Participation is at your own risk.
We are not liable for:
• indirect, incidental or consequential damages,
• platform outages,
• third-party failures,
• delays outside our control.
16. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including illness, technical outages, strikes, natural disasters, or changes in law.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
19. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Members will be notified by email and/or an announcement.
Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
If changes materially affect your rights, you may cancel before the effective date. Annual members may receive a discretionary pro-rated refund.
20. Permanent Discontinuation of the Membership
We may permanently discontinue the Membership at any time.
If this happens:
• annual members will receive a pro-rated refund,
• monthly members will not be charged further.
Where reasonably possible, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice.
21. Delivery of Sessions, Team Availability & Temporary Suspension
We do not guarantee that any specific individual (including the community leader) will deliver sessions.
Due to illness, caring responsibilities or operational needs, we may:
• substitute facilitators,
• modify or reschedule sessions,
• temporarily reduce service levels,
• temporarily suspend the Membership.
Suspensions or substitutions do not constitute a breach of contract.
22. Confidentiality
Both parties agree not to use or share each other’s confidential information except as required to deliver or participate in the Membership.
23. Assignment (Non-Transferability)
Membership is personal to you and cannot be assigned, transferred or shared without our written consent.
