Degree Doctor Momentum

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 6 January 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your purchase of access to Degree Doctor® Momentum (“Momentum”), operated by Wise Wares UK Limited, trading as Degree Doctor® (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By purchasing and continuing to access Momentum, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before purchasing or accessing Momentum.

1. Purpose of Momentum

Momentum is a digital education membership that provides access to structured learning resources, alongside an online platform and group learning materials.

Momentum does not provide (including but not limited to):

  • one-to-one supervision

  • personalised coaching

  • individual academic feedback

  • therapeutic, counselling, mental-health, legal or professional advice

  • access to any other Degree Doctor® products (e.g., PhD Survival Guides, Cheat Sheet Library, standalone courses). These are separate services

  • coaching, consulting, or advisory services of any kind

We reserve the right to clarify or rule out additional activities or services that are not part of Momentum.

You remain solely responsible for academic decisions, research ethics, wellbeing, and communication with your institution.

The core value of Momentum is access to structured digital educational content designed for independent use.

Momentum is a digital product delivered online and designed for independent use. It does not rely on the provision of personalised human services.

Any live sessions or community features are supplementary and do not constitute individual advice or professional services.

2. Momentum Access

Momentum is available as a rolling monthly or annual subscription.

2.1 Calendar-Month Access Model

Momentum access runs on a calendar-month basis. Payments relate to access for a given calendar month (no pro-rating).

Payments are typically collected in advance for the upcoming month. If access is granted mid-month, payment may apply to the current month, and recurring billing follows from the date of joining.

We will confirm your access period and payment information at the time of joining.

Momentum includes:

• access to the community platform

• members-only content

• masterclasses, workbooks and resources

• optional live events

• discussion spaces

• other services as determined by us, which may change or be withdrawn

As a developing and evolving community, we may decide to change the nature, format, frequency of the Momentum offering and content may also change from time to time at our discretion.

We may change or replace the delivery platform with reasonable efforts to maintain continuity.

2.2 Annual Access Model

Annually-paying customers purchase access on the same calendar-month basis, typically at a discounted rate.

There is no pro-rating; annual fees relate to full months of access.

2.3 No Guarantee of Uninterrupted Access

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, as downtime or disruptions may occur outside our control.

3. Eligibility for Momentum

Momentum is exclusively for individuals enrolled in a recognised doctoral programme (PhD, EdD, DBA, etc.).

To protect the community, we may:

• verify eligibility

• request evidence

• decline applications

• remove individuals whose behaviour is unsafe, inappropriate or inconsistent with Momentum’s purpose

Eligibility decisions are final.

4. Founding Members

Founding Members are those who joined Momentum at the initial launch and were designated as such.

Founding Members receive a discounted base rate for as long as their access remains active (see Section 6).

Early-stage refinements or technical issues may occur; where possible these will be addressed promptly.

5. Personal Use Only & Intellectual Property

Momentum access is for the named individual only. Login details must not be shared.

Anyone found sharing access or abusing the service may have their access terminated without refund.

All Degree Doctor® content - videos, live sessions, downloads, workbooks, templates, posts and discussions - remains our intellectual property.

You may not:

• reproduce, share, upload, or distribute materials

• screenshot or distribute community content

• use materials for teaching, training or commercial purposes

• upload or store copyrighted materials you do not have permission to share

We are not liable for any copyright infringement caused by customers.

5.1 Prohibited Content

You must not upload unlawful, harmful, defamatory, discriminatory or inappropriate material.

Breaches may result in termination and/or legal action.

6. Payments, Billing & Taxes

6.1 Pricing and Tax

All prices are listed exclusive of applicable taxes. Depending on your location, VAT, GST, sales tax, digital services tax or similar may be added at checkout.

Applicable taxes will be calculated and displayed at checkout prior to purchase.

Where laws or tax rules change, we may modify pricing or tax handling and will notify customers where reasonably possible.

6.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed via an online billing platform. By subscribing, you authorise recurring payments until cancelled.

Prices are in GBP (£). International customers may incur additional currency or processing fees.

6.3 Failed Payments

If payment fails, automated retries may occur. We may suspend or terminate access until payment is resolved.

6.4 Payment Pauses During Unforeseen Events

If services must be temporarily suspended, we may pause billing. No payments will be collected during pauses.

6.5 Price Adjustments

Customers receive the base rate advertised at joining.

All rates are subject to change due to the following:

• required taxes

• inflationary adjustments

• operational cost increases

• legal or regulatory changes

Changes apply only to future billing periods. We will notify customers where reasonably possible.

Whilst we aim to maintain the early joining rate for Founding Members, rates may also be subject to change for factors outside of our control such as those listed above. We will endeavour to always offer Founding Members a rate lower than those of non-Founding Members.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

7.1 Monthly Access

Customers may cancel at any time.

Access continues until the end of the current paid calendar month.

No partial refunds.

Customers are responsible for informing the payment provider of their intention to cancel in good time.

7.2 Annual Access

If an annually-paying customer cancels early:

• usage is recalculated at the applicable monthly rate (excluding the annual discount)

• used months are charged

• any remaining balance is refunded

• access continues until the recalculated period ends

Customers are responsible for informing the payment provider of their intention to cancel in good time.

8. Community Conduct

Customers must behave respectfully and professionally at all times, in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.

Harassment, discrimination, bullying or toxicity will not be tolerated.

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct breaches without refund.

We are not responsible for customers’ behaviour or disclosures.

Interactions in the community spaces are at your own risk.

9. Non-Disparagement

You agree not to engage in behaviour - inside or outside Momentum - that is malicious, defamatory, or intended to harm the reputation of Degree Doctor®, its team members, or customers.

This includes:

• posting harmful or misleading comments

• spreading misinformation

• encouraging conflict

• undermining trust in Momentum

This does not prevent:

• raising concerns directly with us

• providing honest feedback via appropriate channels

• lawful reporting where required

Breaches may result in termination without refund and further action if necessary.

10. Non-Compete and Protection of Intellectual Property

You agree not to use any materials, content, frameworks, templates, processes, community structure, or resources obtained through the Momentum to create, operate, or contribute to a directly competing service, course, membership, coaching programme or educational product.

You must not:

• replicate or imitate the Momentum structure or delivery

• create derivative products or frameworks based on Degree Doctor® materials

• use any content for commercial purposes

• collect or use community information to build or promote a competing offer

• access Momentum for the purpose of copying, researching, or reverse-engineering our business model

Nothing in this clause prevents you from developing your own academic expertise or independent professional work that is meaningfully distinct and not based on Degree Doctor® intellectual property.

Breaches may result in termination without refund and legal action to protect our business.

11. Privacy, Safety & Personal Information

Customers are advised not to share personal contact details on the platform.

Any information you share is at your own risk.

Heartbeat is a third-party platform; we do not control its systems or security and cannot be held liable for outages or failures.

14. Third-Party Experts & External Sessions

External contributors may appear, but we do not guarantee or endorse their advice.

Any decision to work with them outside Momentum is at your discretion.

15. Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate access without refund if you:

• breach these Terms

• share login details

• misuse intellectual property

• engage in harmful or disruptive behaviour

• violate privacy or safety rules

16. Limitation of Liability

Participation is at your own risk.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for outages or failures caused by third parties.

17. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our control, including illness, outages, natural disasters, pandemics or legal changes.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

19. Severability

If any provision is invalid, the remainder of the Terms remain in effect.

20. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms.

21. Permanent Discontinuation

If we discontinue Momentum:

• annually-paying customers receive a pro-rated refund

• monthly-paying customers are not billed further

We will give at least 30 days’ notice where reasonably possible.

22. Delivery of Sessions & Availability

We do not guarantee that any specific individual will deliver sessions.

We may modify or reschedule sessions or suspend Momentum temporarily.

This is not a breach of contract.

23. Confidentiality

Both parties agree not to share confidential information except as needed to deliver or participate in Momentum or as permitted in our Privacy Policy.

24. Assignment

Access to Momentum is personal to you and cannot be transferred or shared without written consent.
