Weekly PhD guidance for serious qualitative researchers

Because qualitative research is messy enough already

You probably realise by now that the qualitative PhD is an interesting beast. One of the most frustrating things about it is that it often seems to get harder, not easier, the further you get into it. Welcome to the joys of researching the human experience.

As a qualitative researcher, you’re getting right into the weeds of the complexity, contradiction, and tangled chaos that comes with trying to unpick people’s lived experiences. The good thing about this is that your study is entirely unique and it offers unlimited geek-out opportunities. The flip side is that it can feel incredibly lonely sometimes.

That’s why, back in 2021, I started sending out weekly emails about all things qualitative research. My aim is to help guide you through the obstacle course of the qualitative research journey by sharing the things your supervisor and institution likely haven’t told you.

If you’re tired of feeling lost in the weeds of your PhD, you’re very welcome here. Enter your details below and I’ll see you in your inbox soon.
